Pork Breakfast Sausage

Description

Learn to grind and season your own homemade pork breakfast sausage from scratch!

  1. Grind your pork or use pre-ground pork.

  2. Add your ground pork to a large bowl and set aside. 

  3. In a small bowl, combine all of the seasonings together. 

  4. Add the combined seasonings to the pork and using your hands, mix thoroughly.

  5. Form the pork mixture into 8 patties.

  6. Fry the patties in a hot pan until browned on both sides and the internal temp reaches 160° Fahrenheit.

For serving suggestion: Breakfast Sandwich

  1. In the same pan that you used to fry the sausage patties, add 1 pat of butter and the diced peppers and onions.  Sauté for a few minutes just until softened. Remove from pan and set aside. 

  2. In the same pan, add another pat of butter, then crack in your eggs. Break the yolks on purpose (so they are not runny) and fry just until done on both sides. Remove from pan and set aside. 

  3. In same pan, add one more pat of butter and toast your hamburger buns.  Remove from pan and set aside. 

  4. To assemble your breakfast sandwich, lay down the bottom bun, top with a sausage patty, then a slice of cheese, some prepared peppers and onions, top with a fried egg and the top bun.  Enjoy!
