Nashville Hot Chicken Dip

Servings: 6

Description

Bringing the heat with a dip inspired by Nashville’s famous hot chicken! This dip combines chunks of fried chicken, spicy seasoning, cream cheese, and a tangy kick from the hot sauce and pickles that’s guaranteed to turn up the flavor.

  1. Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, 1 3/4 cup of the shredded mozzarella, mayo, sour cream, green onions, hot sauce, cayenne, brown sugar, paprika, and garlic powder. Season with salt to taste. Gently fold in almost all of the breaded chicken tender chunks, reserving the rest for topping the dip.  Mix until completely combined.

  2. Transfer the mixture to a medium baking dish or skillet4 and top with remaining cheese. Add the rest of the chicken to the center of the dip and bake until bubbly and slightly golden, 25 to 30 minutes.

  3. Remove from the oven and garnish the top of the dip with the reserved breaded chicken tender chunks (in a pile in the center), pickle chips all around the chicken chunks, and drizzle more hot sauce all over the top of the dip for more color and tang.  Serve with my homemade flour tortilla chips.
